Chimney Support Cable Installation for Springbar Tent

Quick answer

Install the Chimney Support Cable to secure your stove pipe to the tent ridge, ensuring stability and safety during use.

Step-by-Step Installation

1. Attach the cable to the ridge: Thread the Chimney Support Cable around the ridge of your Springbar tent at the location where the stove pipe will exit. Ensure the cable is centered above the stove jack. Common mistake: attaching the cable too far from the stove jack, causing uneven tension.
2. Secure the cable ends: Connect the two ends of the cable using the provided hardware (typically a carabiner or clip). Tighten until the cable is snug but not overly taut. Checkpoint: The cable should not sag; if it does, readjust the position.
3. Attach the stove pipe support: Use the cable to support the stove pipe by clipping or looping the cable around the pipe section that exits the tent. Ensure the pipe is straight and not leaning. Common mistake: attaching the cable too low on the pipe, which can cause the pipe to tilt.
4. Test stability: Gently shake the stove pipe to verify it is secure. The cable should hold it firmly without excessive movement. Adjust tension if needed.
